Upgrade i.Skin

upgrade ipb skin i series

Upgrading an i.Series skin for new IPB software is usually as easy as a few clicks.
This is because all i.Series skins are already super-compatible, thanks to an overriding CSS and minimal edits to default templates. Much gratitude goes to CSS3, which is able to accomplish with ease what would have taken much more intrusive template edits years ago.

If you are upgrading a 1.1.x or 1.2.x skin, you can upgrade to a 1.3.x+ skin by deleting the 1.1.x or 1.2.x skin&replacements via the ACP, as well as deleting the image set via FTP, and then importing the 1.3.x+ skin&replacements and images as per the installation instructions noted in the skin package.

1.3.x+ is where it's at. 1.3.x+ skins are ultra-compatible, thanks to NO direct edits to any default templates, due to the usage of a hook system to indirectly apply any template modifications, all of which are relatively non-intrusive.

Onto the upgrade instructions for 1.3.x+ skins.

In other cases ...

After a relatively major software upgrade, sometimes things may look wacky here or there. If you notice broken odds and ends, and an updated package isn't already available, please leave a memo below.
